Rakesh Kumar Mahato is a passionate engineer with a strong curiosity for learning and problem-solving. He is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas, Dallas, with a focus on the latest computing technologies and industry-wide challenges. Rakesh has a total of 8.95 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering. Rakesh's current role is in machine learning at the University of Texas, Dallas, where he has built a CNN model for classifying patients as COVID-19 positive or normal based on their chest x-ray images. He has also trained a model using Enhanced Gradient Descent and predicted the cost for the Boston House Prices dataset. Additionally, he has designed a Neural Network with momentum factor optimization for weights and compared the accuracy of different activation functions. In his previous roles at the University of Texas, Dallas, Rakesh worked on web programming and natural language processing. He designed an e-commerce website and implemented features such as user registration, hashing of passwords, form validation, and shopping cart management. He also worked on extracting semantic relations between two entities in a sentence by POS tag and computed bigram models to assign probabilistic POS tags for any input sentence using Naïve Bayesian classification. Rakesh holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Dhanbad and a High School degree from DAV Public School, NIT Campus, Adityapur, Jamshedpur. He has a strong tech stack that includes ML, CNN, Neural Networks, Web, Javascript, PHP, Parts-of-speech, and NLP.
